ORLANDO, Fla. - Freshman pitcher
Molly McCready set a single-game record with 15 strikeouts as Illinois Wesleyan beat St. Benedict, 3-1 in eight innings on Thursday, March 17 in Orlando, Fla. The Titans also beat Rutgers-Camden, 9-5 at the Rebel Spring Games.
McCready, who allowed seven hits and one unearned run while walking three, broke the record of 14, set by Valerie Hackett at North Park on April 3, 2008.

Allie Riordan each had two hits for the Titans and Riordan had two runs batted in while senior first baseman
Kris Lee had one RBI.
The Titans (now 6-2) banged out 15 hits in the second game with three coming from junior third baseman

Katie Bruins, freshman centerfielder
Victoria Whitaker, and sophomore shortstop
Emma Clark.
The Titans took the lead for good, 5-4, with a two-run third inning, sparked by a single from Mahoney.
Illinois Wesleyan scored three runs in the fourth inning, aided by a two-run single from sophomore leftfielder
Jaci Forsythe.
Bruins, who pitched the final five innings and allowed only one unearned run while striking out two, got the win in relief of sophomore
Alyssa Vorel.
Illinois Wesleyan wraps up its Florida trip with games agains Ramapo (9 a.m.) and Kean (11 a.m.) on Friday, March 18.
