BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan softball team came back to win the second game of a doubleheader, 5-1, after losing the first game, 6-2, to Wisconsin-Whitewater at IWU Field on Wednesday, April 28.

After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first, the Titans tied the score in the bottom of the inning with their only tallies of the day. Freshman

Kris Lee advanced the runner with a sacrifice and junior leftfielder Jen Moncao smacked a triple to rightfield to score Soltwedel. Freshman
Katie Bruins then singled to right to bring home Monaco.
Monaco also had a double to pace the Titans' offensive attack.
Senior
Christy Engel (8-7) took the loss as she allowed 10 hits and walked five while striking out 10. Jessica Stang (10-6) was the winning pitcher as she allowed five hits and struck out two.

Bruins improved to 6-3 with the pitching victory as she allowed three hits. Amanda LeBeau got UW-W ahead in game two with her fifth home run of the season in the top of the second. IWU's Lee tied the game in the bottom of the third with her second round-tripper of the season.
It remained 1-1 until the bottom of the fifth, when the Titans scored three times. Pinch hitter
Lauren Vorel singled in two runs with the bases loaded and senior second baseman Lisa Nartosky stole home on the front end of a double steal.
The Titans added another run in the sixth when Lee provided a sacrifice fly to bat in pinch runner
Sam Rubright.
Freshman right-hander Katie Boyle, 3-6, went the first five and a third for UW-W.
