BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Senior shortstop Allison Ward smacked a three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th to give Illinois Wesleyan a 3-0 win in game one of a doubleheader split against Carthage on April 13. The Lady Reds won game two, 4-0.

In the 10th inning with one out, freshman Stephanie Polich walked and Christy Engel reached on an error by the third baseman trying to sacrifice Polich to second before Ward delivered her homer over the left field fence.

Engel struck out eight in 8 2/3 innings and was relieved by Lauren James, who picked up the win in 1 1/3 innings of relief. For Carthage, Kelsey Epping struck out 17 and walked four in 9 1/3 innings.

In the second game, Carthage's Krystina Leazer struck out eight and allowed only four Titan hits.
