Christy Engel, and took the nightcap, 7-1, as senior shortstop
Allison Ward got a single, double and triple against Wisconsin-Eau Claire at IWU Field on Tuesday, March 30.
In the first game, Illinois Wesleyan (who improved to 11-5) scored one run in the bottom of the first inning and broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the sixth inning to support Engel, who struck out nine and walked five as she bettered her record to 3-3.
IWU scored in the first frame when
Lisa Narotsky singled to center field, stole second, advanced to third on a flyout and scored an unearned run on an error by the second baseman.
In the sixth, Narotsky singled to right center, went to second on a sacrifice by Ward, and went to third on a ground out. Sophomore third baseman
Kayla Mahoney drove Narotsky home with a double to left field.
In the second game, the Titans scored one run in each of the first two innings and, combined with a big fifth inning, went on to win 7-1. In addition to Ward's three hits, Mahoney added two more doubles and leftfielder

Caitlin Carpenter each had two hits. Carpenter had a double and two RBI.
Freshman
Katie Bruins was the winning hurler, allowing no earned runs and four hits while striking out three Blugolds (2-10) in six innings.
