DECATUR, Ill. - In a game in which they never trailed, the Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team rolled over Millikin, 80-59, in Decatur on Feb. 9.

The Titans, who are ranked No. 3 in both the D3hoops.com and USA Today/ESPN polls this week, improved to 21-1 overall and 10-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while Millikin had a four-game winnng streak snapped and fell to 13-9 and 7-4 in the league.

IWU was ahead 11-9 with 15:10 to play in the first half before going on a 13-3 run to lead by a 24-12 margin with 10:40 before the half. The Titans led 44-27 at intermission.

Senior Christina Solari scored 18 points and had a game-high 15 rebounds with five assists to lead five Titans in double figure scoring. Juniors Hope Schulte and Nikki Preston had 13 and 12 points, respectively, while sophomore Brittany Hasselbring and junior Sarah Cotner each added 10 points.

Illinois Wesleyan shot 48 percent from the field in the game (31 of 65) and limited the Big Blue to 38 percent field goal shooting (21 of 56). IWU held a 42-34 edge in rebounds and Millikin committed 26 turnovers compared to 21 for IWU and the Titans scored 31 points off turnovers. IWU's bench outscored the Big Blue, 23-4.

Crystal Ziegler had 16 points and 13 boards to page Millikin while Elise Wildman had 15 points.

The Titans entertain the Wheaton Thunder (12-9 overall, 6-5 CCIW) at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 in the annual WBCA "PinkZone" game to raise breast cancer awareness. It is also "Seniors' Night" to honor Christina Solari and Carrie Williams.
