Titan Women Back on Track in 34-Point Win

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team improved to 19-1 overall and 8-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with an 86-52 handling of North Central on Feb. 2 at the Shirk Center.

Junior Stacey Arlis scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds while junior Nikki Preston added 15 and sophomore Olivia Lett had 13 coming off the bench. Senior Christina Solari had 12 points and a game-high seven rebounds as IWU outrebounded the Cardinals, 43-29.

North Central (4-16, 1-8 CCIW) got 18 points from Jenny Swanson and 17 from Christine Karl.

IWU jumped out to a 9-0 lead and was never in danger after that. The Titans shot 51 percent from the field (37 of 72), connected on seven of 22 3-pointers, and made five of their six free throw tries. The Cardinals, who committed 22 turnovers to only nine by IWU, shot 35 percent from the field (18 of 52) and hit 10 of 27 from beyond the 3-point arc (37 percent).

The Titans host Elmhurst (14-6, 7-2 in CCIW after a 72-64 loss to Millikin on Feb. 2) at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6.
