ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team clinched a share of its third straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship with a 79-40 win at Augustana on Feb. 16.
The Titans, who are ranked No. 3 in both Division III women's polls this week, improved to 23-1 overall and are 12-1 in the CCIW, holding onto a one-game lead over Carthage, an 86-39 winner on Feb. 16 over North Park. The Lady Reds are 11-2 in the league and 21-3 overall.
The win over Augustana assures IWU of hosting the CCIW women's tournament Feb. 26-27 at the Shirk Center.

Christina Solari scored 16 points and snared eight rebounds against the Vikings while junior
Holly Harvey and
Sarah Cotner each contributed 10 points for the Titans.
Illinois Wesleyan shot 46 percent from the field in the game (31 of 68) and limited the Vikings to 38 percent field goal shooting (13 of 34). IWU was outrebounded in the game, 37-30, but Augustana was guilty of 40 turnovers compared to 14 by IWU.
The Titans connected on five of 20 3-point efforts and made 24 steals.
Augustana fell to 1-12 in the CCIW and 6-18 overall. The Vikings got 12 points and eight boards from Lani Kasten.
The Titans can win the CCIW championship outright with a victory in the regular season finale at North Park at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.
