No. 6 Titans Lose at Home to Whitewater, 74-60

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 6 ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team lost a 74-60 decision at the Shirk Center to Wisconsin-Whitewater on Tuesday, November 23.

The Titans fell to 1-2 this season while the Warhawks, who led by 27 at 58-31 with 9:39 to play in the game, improved to 2-1.

Seniors Nikki Preston and Stacey Arlis had 13 and 12 points, respectively, to lead IWU, who suffered through a poor shooting night from the field (.361, 22 of 61) and from the 3-point zone (.263, 5 of 19).
Senior Hope Schulte was IWU's leading rebounder with five and also handed out a game-high five assists with a game-best six steals.

The Warhawks outrebounded IWU by a 48-29 margin with 19 coming on the offensive end. IWU committed 25 turnovers and forced Whitewater into 29.

UWW was led by three players with 11 points - Katie Burton, Jamie Swanson and Emily Bestor. The Warhawks shot .466 from the field (27 of 58) and made .444 from beyond the 3-point arc (4 of 9).

Illinois Wesleyan looks to get back on the winning track when it plays at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27 at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Cornell is 3-0 heading into a Nov. 24 home game against Monmouth.
