BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team improved to 17-0 overall and 6-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with an 87-53 win over North Park at the Shirk Center Jan. 24.

The No. 1-ranked Titans, who jumped out to a 20-2 lead in the game, have now won 55 consecutive regular season games and a league-record 32 straight CCIW games.

Junior Hope Schulte led the Titans with 17 points while junior Stacey Arlis and senior Christina Solari each scored 11 points and junior Sarah Cotner contributed 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds coming off the bench.

IWU shot 53 percent from the field (32 of 61) and made 18 of 24 free throws (75 percent). North Park managed only 35 percent from the floor (19 of 54) and made only eight of 30 field goal tries (27 percent) in the first half.

The Vikings, who fell to 4-13 overall and 1-5 in conference play, were led by the game-high 18 points of Kam Acree. North Park outrebounded the Titans, 37-35, but were guilty of 31 turnovers compared to 23 for IWU.

The Titans next host the Vikings of Augustana on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at the Shirk Center.
