Titan Women Win By 10 at Elmhurst, 74-64

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team won its 30th straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game, claiming a 74-64 decision at Elmhurst on Jan. 17.

The Titans improved to 15-0 overall and 4-0 in the CCIW the season. It is the 53rd consecutive regular season win for Illinois Wesleyan, who was led by the 16-point and eight-rebound effort of senior Christina Solari. Juniors Nikki Preston and Stacey Arlis contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Elmhurst led the Titans, 23-20, with 4:54 to play in the first half but IWU closed out the first 20 minutes with a 15-5 run to hold a 35-28 advantage at intermission.
The Blujays battled back to tie the game at 43-43 with 14:55 to play in the game and took a 55-54 lead with 8:01 to go before IWU had a 12-0 spurt to forge ahead 66-55 with 4:34 left in the game.

Illinois Wesleyan junior Hope Schulte added nine points and five assists and sophomore Karen Solari had a team-high six assists. The Titans shot .474 from the field (27 of 57).

The Bluejays, who fell to 10-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference, outrebounded the Titans, 28-27, and were led in scoring by Rashida Joiner with 15 points. Elmhurst shot .439 from the floor (18 of 41).
