LaVERNE, Calif. - The No. 1 ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team recorded a 54-40 win at the University of LaVerne (Calif.) on Dec. 29.

Junior Stacey Arlis had 12 points with eight rebounds to lead the 9-0 Titans and junior Nikki Preston added 11 points. Senior Christina Solari grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds as the Titans held a commanding 51-31 edge on the boards.
Solari, who scored eight points, and sophomore Brittany Hasselbring each handed out three assists.

IWU managed just 34 percent from the field in the game (23 of 70) and connected on three of 23 shots from beyond the 3-point arc.

Amanda Copas had 13 points to lead the Leopards (now 6-3), who committed 25 turnovers and shot just 32 percent from the floor (14 of 44).

IWU plays at University of Redlands at 9:30 p.m. Central time on Wednesday, Dec. 30 to complete their two-game California junket.
