Titans Improve to 8-0 With Win Over St. Francis

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 1 ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team breezed to an 88-64 win over St. Francis on Dec. 12 at the Shirk Center. It is IWU's 46th consecutive regular season win, dating back to a 68-63 loss to Millikin on Jan. 12, 2008.

The Titans improved to 8-0 with the nonconference win and were led by reserve freshman guard Melissa Gardner with 14 points and sophomore Karen Solari came off the bench to add 12.

Junior Hope Schulte scored 11 points in the victory and Sarah Cotner came off the bench to score eight points, grab six rebounds, and hand out three assists. Senior Christina Solari grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for IWU.

IWU held a 51-34 rebound edge over the Saints, who fell to 3-6 with the loss. St. Francis was led by the 15 points of Katie Carls.
