Teresa (Zurick) Fish, who has been named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin "Coach of the Year" 10 times, has been the Illinois Wesleyan swimming and diving coach since 1995.

Fish coached six All-CCIW swimmers in 2016, including the "Swimmer of the Meet" (Meg Stanley). Stanley set the meet and open record with a time of 16:59.48 in the 1650 freestyle.

Fish was named as the 2015 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin "Coach of the Year" and coached the "Swimmer of the Meet" (Kirsten Slaughter) and the women's "Outstanding Participant" (Meg Stanley). Slaughter, who was an All-American in the 50 freestyle, was the co-winner of the 2015 CCIW "Female Swimmer of the Year" award.

Fish was named as the 2014 CCIW "Coach of the Year" and in the 2014 CCIW meet, Fish coached the "Swimmer of the Meet" (Slaughter) and the women's "Outstanding Participant" (Stephanie Manikas). She coached two NCAA Division III All-Americans - Slaughter for her fifth place national finish in the 50 freestyle and Marcus Duval for his 15th place national finish in the 400 individual medley.

The 2013 season was highlighted by senior Katie McHugh's third place national finish in the 200 butterfly as the IWU women's team tied for 30th place in the national meet. McHugh was also chosen as the women's "Outstanding Performer" for the CCIW meet, earning a first and two second places individually and swimming on three top-three finishing relay teams.

In 2011, Fish coached the "Most Outstanding Participants" in both the men's (Mikey Firth) and women's (Andrea Peterson) in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin meet and Peterson was a two-time Division III All-American as she finished fifth in the 200 backstroke and fourth in the 100 backstroke at the NCAA championships.

After joining IWU in 1995, she promptly led the men's swimming team to its first-ever CCIW championship in 1996.

A native of Darien, Ill., and a graduate of Hinsdale South High School, Fish earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1988 at Kenyon (Ohio) College, where from 1985-88 she won 14 NCAA Division III swimming titles and earned 27 swimming All-American honors as well as being named an Academic All-American. In September 2005, Fish was part of the 1986-87 Kenyon swim team that was inducted into the Kenyon Athletic Association Hall of Fame. The 1987 Kenyon women's swim team won the national Division III title, taking 15 of 18 events including all five relays.

Fish earned a master's degree at Duke University and was pursuing a doctorate in biochemistry at Duke when she elected to start her coaching career at IWU. In Durham, N.C., she coached United States Swimming and YMCA age group programs and also coached the Durham Academy girls' team to a high school state championship in 1994.

Teresa and her husband John Fish have one son, George.
