IWU's Ehresman Selected as Second Team Academic All-American ®

2018 CoSIDA Division III Women's Basketball Academic All-America® Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan University senior Rebekah Ehresman has been elected to the second team of the Division III Women's Basketball Academic All-America® Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
The 2018 Academic All-America ® Women's Basketball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.

The selection brings the total to 126 for the number of Illinois Wesleyan Academic All-Americans ® since the program began in 1970. The complete list of IWU Academic All-Americans ® is available here.

Ehresman (Gridley, Ill., El Paso-Gridley HS) is an accounting major with a 3.97 grade-point average at Illinois Wesleyan. She earned IWU's Mortar Board first-year leadership award for commitment to scholarship and service, is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta honorary, part of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and has earned academic all-conference honors. She has made the IWU Dean's List all semesters and is on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee this year.

Chosen as the "Most Outstanding Player" in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Ehresman averaged 10.9 points per game with team-highs of 5.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. Her 3.79 assist/turnover ratio ranked No. 2 in Division III and her 90 steals are the most in an IWU single-season while her 144 assists ranks second.

Ehresman finished her career at Illinois Wesleyan ranked No. 1 in program history in free throws made (330) and steals (296), No. 2 in assists (376) and No. 9 in scoring with 1,236 career points.
