NCAA DIII Track & Field All-Academic Teams

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Both Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's track teams and four individual student-athletes were among those honored for academics for the 2016-17 NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field seasons by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The IWU men's and women's teams were among the 294 Division III squads to earn All-Academic Team honors (183 women's teams and 111 men's teams). The IWU men's team had a grade-point average of 3.33 and the women's team was at 3.31. To be in contention for team honors, a program must finish highly at the respective national championship meet and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.

Illinois Wesleyan's Amelia Glueck, Maddison Zimmer and Bella Schneider were among a total of 608 women to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2016-17 track & field seasons while Eric Rydell was among the 402 men honored.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
1. Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship;
2. Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
