Spring 2017 Academic All-Conference Selections
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – A total of 106 Illinois Wesleyan student-athletes have been chosen as recipients of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Academic All-Conference honors from the winter and spring seasons, announced on Friday, July 14.
A total of 40 Titans were selected in the six sports of the winter season and 66 more were named from the eight spring sports.
Over 1,200 student-athletes earned CCIW Academic All-Conference accolades between the winter and spring seasons. The list comprises those individuals that achieved an overall grade-point average of 3.30 or above and lettered in their respective sport from each of the three sport seasons. The
fall recipients were announced in March.
Eric Rydell (men's track and field) and
Meg Stanley (women's swimming) repeated for the second straight year as the Illinois Wesleyan recipients of the winter Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award while
J.C. Grabarek (men's lacrosse) and
Amelia Glueck (women's track and field) were the IWU spring Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award honorees.
Each CCIW member institution selects two student-athletes (one male & one female) from each of the three sport seasons (fall, winter, spring) to be honored as Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference members. To be eligible, an individual must have an overall grade point average of 3.50 or above and must have lettered in their respective sport for that season.
The Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award is named after former Wheaton College athletics director and CCIW commissioner. Swartz served in the athletics director role from 1975-1982 and as CCIW commissioner from 1987 until his death on July 11, 1997.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2015-16 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,600 academic all-conference recipients, 14 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 36 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and over 100 all-Americans.
