IWU's Zimmer Gets Eighth-Place Finish in 400 at NCAA National Track Meet

2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship Results

GENEVA, Ohio – Illinois Wesleyan senior Maddison Zimmer has a personal-best time of 55.47 seconds to place eighth in the 400 meter run at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 27, at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
 
The event winner in an NCAA Division III record time of 52.81 seconds was freshman Wadeline Jonathas of Massachusetts-Boston.
 
Zimmer's time in the 400 ranks No. 4 in IWU history, behind only Rachel Anderson, Gena Rawlins and Lauren Alpert.
 
The Titans finished with 9.50 points in the 2017 Championships, placing 35th. The national champion is Washington U. with 56 points, followed by Ithaca with 37 and Williams and Carthage tied for third with 33. Illinois Wesleyan got 4.5 points as junior Molly McGraw tied for fourth in the high jump and 4 points from junior Amelia Glueck with a fifth place finish in the long jump.

All three Titans earn All-American status with their top eight national finishes.
