2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Men's and Women's Division III Soccer teams
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - For the second straight year, Illinois Wesleyan senior
Skyler Tomko has been elected to the third team of the Division III Women's Soccer Academic All-America® Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Tomko's selection brings the total to 122 for the number of Illinois Wesleyan Academic All-Americans ® since the program began in 1970. The complete list of IWU Academic All-Americans ®

The 2016 Academic All-America ® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
Tomko (Lisle, Ill., Lisle HS) has a 3.95 grade-point average majoring in nursing at Illinois Wesleyan. She finished this season with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points and was a first team all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honoree for the second year in a row.
In her career she ranks No. 5 in school history with 41 goals, No. 7 with 91 points and tied for No. 5 with nine game-winning goals. She also is the school record-holder with 91 games played.
She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society, was a volunteer for the Global Medical Brigades in Honduras, and an OSF Hospital Flu Fighter. Tomko has also volunteered for Reading is Fundamental, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and has been an IWU tutor for pathophysiology and pharmacology.
This is the sixth year of the expanded Academic All-America ® program as CoSIDA recognizes four teams - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants. The CoSIDA Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2015-16 Division III Academic All-America® teams program.This is the sixth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA recognizes four teams - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-District™ Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools. Previously, CoSIDA recognized a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I); with the four teams, CoSIDA has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored.
