WINNECONNE, Wis. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's team placed 17th (of 33) and the women's team was 20th (of 38) in the 2016 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday (Nov. 12) at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis.
The men's team had 495 points and was led by the 55th place finish of junior
Nolan Tweedy in a time of 26:06 in the 8,000-meter men's competition. Junior
Tanner Kuenneth was 84th with a time of 26:31.
The women's team had 526 points and
Victoria Drake was the low finisher for IWU, coming in 62nd with a time of 23:18 in the 6,000-meter women's race.
Monica Mocogni was 101st in 24:00 and
Clare O'Donnell was 105th in a run of 24:02.
The regional's winning men's team was North Central with 37 points and Ian LaMere from Wisconsin-Platteville finished first with his time of 24:02. The women's champion was Washington U.-St. Louis with 66 points and Chicago's Khia Kurtenbach was the winner in 21:42.
A total of 41 teams and nearly 350 runners competed in both races.
