2016 CCIW Cross Country Championship Results
NORMAL, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's team placed third in the nine-team College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin 2016 cross country championships, held on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Maxwell Park in Normal, Ill.
The Titans finished with 86 points and trailed only Wheaton, who won with a team score of 43, and North Central with 73. It is Wheaton's first CCIW women's cross country title since 2008 and conference-leading 11th overall.

After IWU in fourth place was Carroll (99), Carthage (107), Augustana (120), Elmhurst (201), North Park (218) and Millikin (251).

Four Illinois Wesleyan juniors earned second team all-CCIW honors for their finishes in the top 20.
Monica Mocogni finished 12th with a time of 24:30.6,
Victoria Drake was 14th in a time of 24:35.5 while
Alyssa Pridemore (24:52.6) and
Jackie Schirmacher (24:55.0) were 19th and 20th.
Elmhurst's Alaina Nebel was named the CCIW Women's Athlete of the Year as she became the first Bluejay runner since Marisa Mele in 2007 to win the individual title as she finished with a time of 22:41.2 in the 6K.

Wheaton's Taylor Burton won CCIW Freshman of the Year honors as the race's highest-placing freshman, while Wheaton, under the direction of David Walford, won CCIW Coaching Staff of the Year recognition.
