2016 CCIW Cross Country Championship Results
NORMAL, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's team placed fourth in the nine-team College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin 2016 cross country championships, held on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Maxwell Park in Normal, Ill.
The Titans had 101 points in the fourth place finish as the winners were North Central. The Cardinals had a perfect score with the top six individuals for a final tally of 15 points. Augustana finished second with 61 points, followed by Carthage (87), IWU, Wheaton (104), Elmhurst (176), Millikin (220), North Park (225) and Carroll (266).
North Central's streak of 43-straight conference titles dates back to 1974 and includes 17 NCAA Division III national titles in that span. This was the Cardinals' 50th men's cross country title in program history.

Illinois Wesleyan junior
Nolan Tweedy received CCIW first team honors as he placed eighth with a time of 26:35.3 in the 8K race.
Juniors
Tanner Kuenneth (27:32.4) and
Sam Powers (27:37.2) finished 22nd and 23rd and
Ronan Dorsey placed 25th with a time of 27:44.3.

North Central, under the direction of Al Carius, took home CCIW Coaching Staff of the Year honors, while Zach Plank of North Central was named the CCIW Men's Athlete of the Year for the second-straight season as he won the event with a time of 25:19.2. His win is the eighth-straight by North Central and 36th in program history.
Wheaton's Jonathan Shirley was named the CCIW Freshman of the Year as the highest-placing freshman at 14th (27:03.3).
