2015 Titan Opener ResultsNORMAL, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's cross country team was second of six teams and the women's team was second of five teams at the Titan Opener, held on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Normal's Maxwell Park.
In the 5-kilometer men's race, the IWU team had 37 points and trailed only DePauw with 26 points. In the 2-mile women's race, the Titans amassed 57 points, second also to DePauw with 53.
The IWU men had four runners reach the top 10, led by sophomore
Tanner Kuenneth with a fourth place finish in a time of 16:48.8. Junior
Derek Andersen was sixth (16:58.4), followed by senior
Danny Krob in seventh (17:00.9) and sophomore
Sam Powers in ninth (17:07.6).
Freshman Paul Christian of DePauw was the meet winner with a run of 16:21.9.

Erin McCarey was second in the women's meet with her time of 12:16.0, trailing only Millikin sophomore Sarah Bradley at 11:31.5.

Amanda Macuiba was the only other IWU runner to achieve the top 10 as she placed eighth with a time of 12:43.7
What's Next?IWU teams will run next on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Wisconsin-Parkside Midwest Open, held at the Dannehl National Course in Somers, Wis., which will also be the site of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships on Oct. 31.
