Dylan Overstreet has been chosen to play for the West team for the 2015 Reese's Division III College All-Star game, which will be played as part of the 2015 NCAA® Division III Men's Basketball Championship.
The Reese's Division III College All-Star game will be played on Saturday, March 21, at 11:30 a.m., prior to the NCAA Division III championship game, which begins at 2 p.m. at the Salem (Va.) Civic Center. The teams are composed of two senior student-athletes from each of the eight regions in Division III and two seniors have been selected by online voting on D3hoops.com.Â
Wisconsin-Whitewater senior Quardell Young, the D3hoops.com Central Region "Player of the Year", was also among those chosen to play on the West team. The game will feature a pair of outstanding former coaches who have both been recipients of the NABC Division III Distinguished Service Award. Former Wabash coach Mac Petty will lead the East team, while former Blackburn coach Dr. Ira Zeff, now the director of athletics at Nebraska Wesleyan, will guide the West team.
Overstreet (Paxton, Ill., Paxton-Buckley-Loda HS) was a first team D3hoops.com all-Central region selection and was the co-winner of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin "Most Outstanding Player" honor and a first team all-conference selection. He led the 20-9 Titans with an 11.1 scoring average and was the top scorer in nine games this season.
In IWU school records, he ranks No. 5 with 391 career assists, No. 26 with 76 career 3-pointers and tied for No. 40 with 200 free throws. This season, his 36 steals tied for 14th best in an IWU season and his 134 assists tied for 10th most. He is also one of 10 finalists for the 2015 Jostens Trophy, recognizing the outstanding student-athlete in NCAA Division III men's basketball.
