2015 IWU First Chance/Alumni Indoor Meet ResultsBLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's indoor track teams opened with the IWU First Chance/Alumni Meet at the Shirk Center on Saturday, Dec. 5. No team scores were kept.
Senior
Nia Joiner won the 60 meter dash in a time of 7.78 seconds, nipping senior teammate
Angela Herrmann by .01 second as Herrmann finished with 7.79 seconds. Junior
Maddison Zimmer claimed the 300 meter dash in 41.16 seconds.
Ashley Miller was first in the mile run (5:31.57) while sophomore
Amelia Glueck won the long jump (18 feet-1 inches), ahead of teammates Joiner (17 feet-3.5 inches) and senior
Jill Harmon (16 feet-11.25 inches) in second and third.
Sophomore
Shante Williams took first in the triple jump (34 feet-6.25 inches), sophomore
Karly Goodman was first in the shot put (41 feet-6 inches) and junior
Jamie Gradishar tied for the highest pole vault with a height of 11 feet-5.75 inches.
The Illinois Wesleyan 4x400 relay team finished second in a time of 3:59.56 as Zimmer, Herrmann, Glueck and
Liz Oltman passed the baton.
For the Titan men's team, sophomore
Sam Powers was a winner in the mile (4:27.22) and senior
Max Leonard won the shot put (48 feet-00.75 inches). Junior
Eric Rydell tied for the top high jump marking at 6 feet-5.5 inches.
Sophomore
Tristan Fox finished third in the 300 meter run in a time of 1:24.38 and the 4x400 relay team of Fox, freshman
Bryan Worby, freshman
Josh Immke and freshman
Michael Hones placed third in a clocking of 3:35.32.
Worby was also third in the long jump at a distance of 21 feet-7.25 inches.
What's Next?After the holiday break, the Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's teams will be returning to action with the Titan Triangular on Saturday, Jan. 16 at the Shirk Center.
