CCIW Championships ResultsKENOSHA, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's team had three runners in the top 10, placing second while the men placed fifth in the 2015 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships at Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha on Saturday, Oct. 31.
The North Central women's squad won its second straight CCIW women's cross country title and ninth in school history. The Cardinals won with a team score of 35, followed by Illinois Wesleyan (59), Wheaton (63), Millikin (127), Carthage (129), Augustana (134), Elmhurst (181) and North Park (241).
All three of the women's top 10 finishers earn first team all-conference distinction. SeniorÂ
Erin McCarey was the Titans' low finisher in the 6K race, placing third with a time of 22:16.40 and juniorÂ
Amanda Macuiba was sixth with a time of 22:57.70.
Sophomore
Clare O'Donnell was IWU's other first team all-conference finisher with a ninth place finish, coming in with a time of 23:06.20. Junior
Victoria Drake earned second team all-conference recognition with a 13th place finish, with a time 23:20.70.
Millikin sophomore Sarah Bradley was first in the women's race with a time of 21:42.70.
The North Central men's team won its 42nd straight CCIW cross country title, having captured every CCIW championship since 1974. The Cardinals won with a team score of 22, followed by Augustana (44), Wheaton (91), Carthage (125), Illinois Wesleyan (134), Elmhurst (158), Millikin (191) and North Park (214). The win was the 49th in school history for North Central.
Senior Derek Anderson finished 24th to pace Illinois Wesleyan with a time of 26:55.00 in the 8K event and sophomoreÂ
Tanner Kuenneth was 27th with his time of 27:02.80. In 28th place was sophomoreÂ
Nolan Tweedy in a run of 27:03.90.
Senior
Danny Krob was 35th (27:27.20) and freshmanÂ
Seth Borrowman was 45th (27:46.90).
North Central had the top three finishers with junior Zach Plank earning medalist honors, finishing the 8K with a time of 25:18.80 to win CCIW "Male Athlete of the Meet" honors.
