IWU Runners Compete at Wisconsin Invitational

2015 AAE Cross Country Invitational Men's Results  |  Women's Results

WINNECONNE, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's team finished 20th of 46 teams and the men's team was 38th of 45 at the UW-Oshkosh AAE Cross Country Invitational, held at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis., on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The IWU women had a total of 539 points and were led by senior Erin McCarey, who finished the 6,000 meter race with a time of 22:01 for 25th place. Senior Amanda Macuiba was 94th with her time of 22:59 and sophomore Victoria Drake placed 112th in 23:12). Sophomores Clare O'Donnell (23:17, 121st place) and Alyssa Pridemore (23:57, 187th place) also scored points for IWU.

Washington U.-St. Louis placed first in the event with 136 points and Megan Kellogg of St. Lawrence University was the first place individual with a time of 21:11.

The IWU men amassed 1020 points and were led by sophomore Tanner Kuenneth, who finished the 8,000 meter course in 26:23 for 143rd place. Senior Derek Anderson was in 154th place with his time of 26:26 and sophomore Sam Powers was in 207th in 26:48. Senior Danny Krob (27:19, 239th place) and freshman Jon Durr (27:58, 277th place) also had points for Illinois Wesleyan.

Nationally top-ranked Wisconsin-Eau Claire was the team champion with 99 points and had Josh Thorson as the individual champion with his time of 24:17.

Illinois Wesleyan cross country teams will compete next in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships at Dannehl National Course in Somers, Wis., on Saturday, Oct. 31.
