2014 Titan Opener Cross Country Complete ResultsNORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's cross country team placed first of five squads while the men's team was first among four teams at the Titan Opener, run at Normal's Maxwell Park on Friday, August 29. The women ran a two-mile course while the men ran a 5K distance.
The Titan women had 25 points and topped second place Millikin (51) and third place Monmouth (59). The IWU men had 39 points to defeat second place Lincoln College (50) and third place Knox (68).
IWU had six of the top 10 women's finishers, led by freshman
Clare O'Donnell in third with a time of 12:41.6, junior
Amanda Macuiba in fourth place(12:44.0) and junior
Lydia Rudd in fifth (12:48.4).
Four IWU men were among the top 10 finishers in the 5K, led by freshman
Nolan Tweedy in third with a time of 17:02.1 and junior
Danny Krob in fourth with a run of 17:14.7. Senior
Michael Bradley was in sixth (17:45.1).
What's Next?The IWU teams will run next on Friday, September 12, at 5 p.m. at the Illinois Intercollegiates, hosted this year by Olivet Nazarene and run at the Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais, Ill.
