2014 CCIW Diving Championship Results, Feb. 7-8
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's team amassed the most points in the diving competition of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin swimming championships, held Feb. 7-8 at IWU's Fort Natatorium.
The Titan women have 82 points, which will be added onto the overall total of the CCIW swimming competition this Thursday through Saturday, hosted by Carthage at the Rec Plex in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
Carthage was second in the women's diving phase with 50 points while Augustana and Rose-Hulman tied for third with 40 points, followed by North Central with 16 and Wheaton with 7.
Illinois Wesleyan junior Danielle Owerko
got fourth in the 1-meter diving on Saturday with a score of 298.85 while sophomore teammate Kacie Graves
was fifth with a total of 270.50. Also collecting points was senior Rae Brattin
in seventh (251.30) and junior Devon Redlin
was eighth (240.75).
Augustana's Helen Myers won the 1-meter event with a score of 376.10.
On Friday, Owerko finished third and Brattin was fifth in the women's 3-meter competition. Owerko had a score of 282.45 points to earn 16 points while Brattin was at 292.90 to collect 14 points. Myers also won the 3-meter with a score of 357.30.
Freshman Alex Guess
was fifth in the men's 1-meter competition with a total of 320.95 to earn 14 points for the Titans. Parker Roth of Wheaton won the event with a score of 402.15.
With 128 points, Rose-Hulman was first in the men's competition with, followed by Wheaton with 56, Augustana with 31 and IWU (14).
