2014 CCIW Cross Country Championships Results2014 CCIW Open ResultsFORSYTH, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's cross country team finished third at the eight-team College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships, held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Forsyth's Hickory Point Golf Course.
The Titans had 73 points and trailed the champion North Central with 26. Wheaton was second with 36 points. Behind IWU was Augustana in fourth with 98, Elmhurst (160), Carthage (170), Millikin (190) and North Park was eighth with 198.
Senior
Kelsey Buerger was 11th overall with a time of 22:52.73 in the 6K race and
Clare O'Donnell was 12th with a time of 22:58.90, earning the "CCIW Freshman of the Year" honors.
Junior
Erin McCarey placd 13th (23:02), junior
Lydia Rudd was 17th (23:26.48) and freshman
Alyssa Pridemore finished 20th with a clocking of 23:28.43. All five Titans are designated "all-conference", with the top 10 runners earning first team distinction and the 11-20 finishers earning second team distinction.
Wheaton's Emma Shunk was the individual champion in a time of 21:58.37.
What's Next?The Illinois Wesleyan women's cross country team will compete in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis.
