2014 CCIW Cross Country Championships Results2014 CCIW Open ResultsFORSYTH, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's cross country team finished sixth at the eight-team College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships, held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Forsyth's Hickory Point Golf Course.
The Titans had 165 points and trailed the champion North Central with 17. Augustana was second with 70 points, followed by Wheaton (80), Carthage (120) and Elmhurst (124). North Park was seventh with 212 points and Millikin was eighth with 228.
Freshman
Nolan Tweedy was IWU's low scorer with a time of 26:08.29, good for 26th place. Junior
Danny Krob was in 29th place with his time of 26:17.08 and junior
Carl Anderson was also in the top 100, placing 87th with a run of 26:27.77.
North Central, ranked No. 1 nationally by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), won the championship for the 41st straight time, having won the CCIW title every year dating back to 1974 and all under head coach Al Carius.
North Central senior Ryan Root turned in a time of 24:05.90 to finish as the individual champion.
What's Next?The Illinois Wesleyan men's cross country team will compete in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis.
