Women's ResultsWINNECONNE, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's team finished 24th of 42 teams and the men's team was 32nd of 45 at the UW-Oshkosh AAE Cross Country Invitational, held at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis., on Saturday, Oct. 18.
The IWU women had a total of 702 points and were led by junior
Erin McCarey, who finished the 6,000 meter race with a time of 23:05 for 101st place. Senior
Kelsey Buerger was 109th with her time of 23:09 and junior
Lydia Rudd placed 159th in 23:45). Freshman
Alyssa Pridemore (23:46, 160th place) and junior
Amanda Macuiba (23:53, 173rd place) also scored points for IWU.
Division II Grand Valley State placed first in the event with 40 points and Lucy Cheadle of Washington U.-St. Louis was the first place individual with a time of 20:45.
The IWU men amassed 1047 points and were led by junior
Danny Krob, who finished the 8,000 meter course in 27:05 for 183rd place. Senior
Michael Bradley was in 194th place with his time of 27:10 and junior
Carl Anderson was in 205th in 27:23. Freshman
Tanner Kuenneth (27:52, 225th place) and
Gavin Schroeder (28:20, 240th place) also had points for Illinois Wesleyan.
Nationally top-ranked North Central was the team champion with 36 points and Alan Peterson of Grand Valley State was the individual champion with his time of 24:33.
What's Next?Illinois Wesleyan cross country teams will compete next in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships at Hickory Point Golf Course in Forsyth, Ill., on Saturday, Nov. 1.
