BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Seniors Declan Garaghty and Angelo Catalano and junior John Pisani were chosen as the "Most Valuable Players" for the 2013 Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team. Geraghty was the defensive MVP for the third straight year while Catalano and Pisani shared the offensive MVP honor.

Geraghty (Schaumburg, Ill. / Schaumburg HS) was a first team all-region selection last fall after being second team as a junior and third team as a sophomore. He capped off his career by earning first team honors for the fourth straight season on the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-conference men's soccer team. He had two goals and three assists for seven points for the Titans, who finished with a 9-8-2 overall record and a 3-4-0 mark in the CCIW. All three of his assists were in conference matches, tying him for second in the league.

Catalano (St. Charles, Ill. / St. Charles North HS) led the Titans with nine points coming on two goals with five assists while Pisani (New Berlin, Ill. / Pleasant Plains HS) had eight total points, tying for the team lead with four goals.

In other honors, sophomore Mitch Billimack (Metamora, Ill. / Metamora HS), who also had four goals and eight points, was named the team's "Most Improved Player" and sophomore defenseman Eric Gilbert (Deerfield, Ill. / Deerfield HS) was tabbed as the "Newcomer of the Year". Gilbert had two goals and an assist for five points.

The team's "Goal of the Year" was scored by senior Chase Salazar (Peoria, Ill. / Dunlap HS) against Millikin.

Head coach Ryan Lakin awarded letters to 16 players, including 10 who return for next season. The lettermen are:
