Men's Results
WARRENVILLE, Ill. – Both Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's cross country teams finished in the middle of the pack at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships Saturday (Nov. 2), taking fifth and fourth, respectively, at St. James Farm, hosted by North Central College.
The Titan women's team earned 85 points for its fourth-place finish in the 6K race, behind Augustana (60), North Central (61), and Wheaton (78).
Senior
Carmin Beck was the top finisher for IWU, taking fourth place with a time of 22:46.07. Senior
Cassie Anderson crossed the finish next, in 10th place, good for 23:16.74.
Junior
Meagan DeSalvo clocked a time of 23:36.71 for 17th place. Sophomore
Stephanie Modert (23:57.95) and Junior
Kelsey Buerger (24:05.11) finished within two place of each other, earning 27th and 29th places, respectively, rounding out the top-five spots for the Titans.
The IWU men's squad earned 128 points for fifth place in the 8K race, while North Central (15), Wheaton (67), Augustana (76), and Carthage (121) earned first thru fourth, respectively.
Seniors
Ethan Wood (26:26.19) and
Erik Bergstrom (26:28.67) finished back-to-back in 22nd and 23rd places, respectively, to lead the Titans.
Senior
Ben Becker was next in 31st place in a time of 26:52.42, while senior
Sean Ryan took 38th place in 27:09.64 to round out the top-five scoring runners.
Before the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championship, the Titans will compete in the "National Invitational" 2-Mile at Tucci Stadium Friday (Nov. 8) at 5:30 p.m.
