NORMAL, Ill. – Although no team scores were taken at the Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's cross country teams' Titan Invitational, IWU had some strong performances Friday (Oct. 4) evening at Maxwell Park.
 
For the women, junior Stephanie Modert finished the 5K race in a time of 20:28.5 for 14^th place, followed by sophomore Amanda Macuiba in 19^th place finishing in 21:23.5.
 
Christine Peterson took 30^th place, clocking 23:42.7, while Amber Miller finished in 24:04.7 for 36^th place. Elaine Coppe rounded out the Titan performances in 39^th place, finishing in a time of 24:40.3.
 
On the men's side, Nate Evans was the first IWU runner to cross the finish line in the 8K race in 8^th place for a time 28:14.3. Aaron Smith earned 10^th place in a time of 28.29.1, while Dan Krob took 12^th in 28:49.7.
 
Jordan Atkins finished in a time of 29:31.6 for 18^th place and Ben White rounded out the top-five Titan runners in 21^st place.
 
The Titan teams will return to action Friday (Oct. 11) at the Benedictine Invitational in Warrenville, Ill., at 4 p.m.
