2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track Championships Results

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's track team has accounted for seven points after day one (Thursday, May 24) of the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Fritz B. Burns Stadium in Claremont, Calif.

Senior Lauren Alpert has four points with her fifth place finish in the long jump and junior Rachael Williams got sixth in the 10,000 meter run for three points.

Alpert had a distance of 19 feet-2 inches in the long jump and also posted the fourth lowest qualifying time in the 200 in 24.38 seconds. The 200 finals will be Saturday at 7:10 p.m.

Williams's time in the 10K was 36:33.36. IWU junior Elise Anderson took 18th in the 10K in a time of 38:26.29.

The 4x100 relay team did not qualify for Saturday's finals, coming in with the 12th best time in preliminaries at 47.62 seconds. The IWU racers were freshman Lexia Swope, senior Brooke Bernardoni, junior Jenna Loynachan and senior Jessica Christy.

The Titans' 4x400 relay team posted the second best time in the preliminary heats at 3:44.70 and will advance to the finals at 6:20 p.m. on Saturday. Christy and Alpert were joined on the relay team by juniors Tara Clemens and Lauren Rock.
