Winneconne, Wis. - Against a heavily competitive field at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Cross Country Championship, the Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's teams took 12th and third, respectively, at the Lake Breeze Golf Club Saturday (November 10), with three women earning all-region.
The Titan women's team nabbed a third-place spot among 40 squads, with 142 points. Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the women's division with 67 points, while University of Chicago (99) took second.

Elise Anderson (22:30), and junior
Carmin Beck (22:34) each earned all-region honors, taking 11th, 19th, and 25th, respectively.
Williams earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship on November 17 in Terre Haute, Ind.

Katherine Filippo finished 38th with a time of 22:52, while junior
Cassie Anderson took 49th place, clocking a time of 23:06.
The IWU men's team tallied 463 points for a 12th-place finish. North Central won the men's division with 58 points and Wisconsin-La Crosse took second with 114 points.

Bobby Castillo finished first for the Titans with a time of 26:16, good for 78th place. Freshman

Kurt VanNess (26:40) each finished in the top-100, taking 86th, 89th, and 95th, respectively.

The Titan women's team has a chance at being included in the national field, as there are at-large bids for teams that did not automatically qualify. The at-large bids will be announced Sunday.
