OAK BROOK, Ill. – In Day Two, the final day of the 2012 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women's Tennis Championships, the Illinois Wesleyan women's tennis team concluded competition with a fourth-place finish and team score of 29 on Saturday (Oct. 6).
Wheaton topped the CCIW with 75 points, while Augustana (49) and Carthage (37) were the only other teams to defeat the Titans.
Top IWU individual performances include junior
Lauren Drawbridge earning third in the No. 3 singles spot and junior
Svenja Schroeder also taking third in the No. 5 singles spot.
Senior
Helen Alex took fourth in the No. 2 singles position, while senior
Alissa Goetz and freshman
Nicole Nelson also earned fourth place in the No. 4 and No. 6 single spots, respectively.
In doubles, Goetz and Drawbridge took third place at the No. 2 doubles spot. Junior
Andrea Kerwin and Alex nabbed fourth place in the No. 1 doubles position.
The Titans will take a break from competition until March 10, 2013 when they will compete during Spring Break.
