For the second straight week and the fourth time this season, Illinois Wesleyan senior
Olivia Lett has been chosen as the women's basketball "Player of the Week" in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin on Monday (Jan. 23).
Lett (Pana, Ill., HS), who has now won the honor five times in her career, averaged 24.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in two CCIW road wins last week. She tallied game-highs of 26 points and eight rebounds, along with four steals, two assists and a block during an 87-53 win over North Central on January 18.
She then scored a game-high 22 points, along with seven rebounds, two steals and two assists during a 75-56 win over Elmhurst on January 21 as the Titans took sole control of first place in the league.
The Titans entertain Millikin in a 7:30 p.m. game at the Shirk Center on Wednesday (Jan. 25). With 988 points as of Jan. 22, Lett needs only 12 points to become the 18th IWU women's player to score 1,000 in a career.
She also ranks 12th all-time with 115 3-pointers, 16th in free throws (177), 36th in rebounds (315), 15th in assists (197), and her career free throw percentage of .812 (177 of 218) is second in an IWU career to Mallory Heydorn (.835, 152 of 182, 2005 to 2009)
A mathematics major at Illinois Wesleyan, she is the daughter of David and Karen Lett.
