ADA, Ohio - The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team lost to Ithaca in overtime, 2-1, in the first round of the NCAA Division III national tournament in Ada, Ohio, on Saturday (Nov. 12). IWU's season ends with a 14-4-2 record.
Ithaca (12-3-3) held a slight 14-13 edge in shots and was outshot 6-2 in the first period. The Bombers, in their ninth straight NCAA playoff appearance, will play the host school, No. 16-ranked Ohio Northern on Sunday. The Polar Bears were a 1-0 overtime winner over Scranton in the other first round match.

Tillie Bill had the Titans' only goal, coming unassisted with 57 seconds left in the first half, on a shot from the left side that got past the Bombers' keeper.
Ithaca junior Rachael Palladino tied the score at 1-1 at 70:58 on an assist from Ellyn Grant-Keane. Palladino hit a left-footed shot to the right corner of goal past a diving
Renata Butikas.
In the 99th minute, Grant-Keane found an open Palladino in front of the IWU net, where she hit a shot that bounced off the right post. A hard-charging Titan defender deflected the ball into the net for an "own goal" to give Ithaca the win.
Butikas made four saves for the Titans while Ithaca junior keeper Becca Salant made five stops in the 98:23 match. Ithaca had five corner kicks, all of which came in the second half, to the Titans' four.
