SANDESTIN, Fla. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's golf team finished in a second place tie at the 18-team Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational, played at The Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Fla., Oct. 9-11.
The Titans finished with a three-day team score of 31-over 883 (298-297-288) and trailed only champion Guilford at 874 (290-296-288), Tyler (Texas) also tied with IWU with an 883 score (291-304-288), followed by Oglethorpe at 886 and Rhodes at 901. Carthage from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin finished 16th with a 934 total.
Illinois Wesleyan junior
Stefan Johnson shot an even-par 71 on the final day and finished in a tie for third overall in the 90-player field with a score of 213 (73-69-71) while senior
Shane Smith carded a three-under 68 on the last day and tied for 13th with a 221 score (77-76-68) on the 6643-yard course.
Sophomore
Austin Craig tied for 20th with a 224 score (71-78-75) and senior
Dex Reese came in tied for 22nd with a score of 225 (77-74-74).
Freshman
Kenny Wienckowski carded his third straight score of 79 and tied for 67th with a 237 total.
Noah Ratner from Guilford was the tournament medalist with a score of 9-under 204 (66-69-69), followed by LaGrange's Hudson Keener at 6-under 207 (68-71-68).

SANDESTIN, Fla. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's golf team made a leap into a second place tie (from fifth place on day one) after day two of the 18-team Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational, being played at The Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Fla.
On a very windy day in Sandestin, the Titans had a second-day total of 297 and have managed a team score of 13-over par 595 (298-297) to trail Guilford at 586 (290-296). Tyler (Texas) is tied with the Titans at 595 (291-304).
Illinois Wesleyan junior
Stefan Johnson, who started the day tied for 12th, carded a second round of two-under 69 and is in third place with a two-day total of 142 (73-69) on the 6,643-yard course.
Sophomore
Austin Craig is tied for 12th with a score of 149 (71-78).
Senior
Dex Reese had a 74 on day two and is in 17th place at 151 (77-74) while senior
Shane Smith came in with a score of 153 (77-76) and is tied for 28th. Freshman
Kenny Wienckowski shot his second straight 79 and is at 158, tied for 54th in the 90-player tournament.
Noah Ratner from Guilford leads the field with a seven-under-par score of 135 (66-69).
