2011 CCIW Women's Golf Results
DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Illinois Wesleyan women's golf team won its 10th consecutive College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin title by 58 strokes and sophomore
Katie Klosterman was the tournament medalist on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa.
With the win, the Titans earned the CCIW's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship in the spring.
Illinois Wesleyan won with a team score of 955 (317-312-326), followed by North Central (339-337-337-1013), Carthage (339-341-339-1019), Augustana (339-346-361-1046), Elmhurst (348-346-357-1051), Millikin (342-359-360-1061), Wheaton (352-367-348-1067) and North Park (424-421-415-1260).
"The pins and the wind got the best of us today, but we still managed solid rounds," said IWU head coach
Kathy Niepagen, who won her sixth CCIW "Women's Golf Coach of the Year" honor and first since 2006. "Katie's 77 solidified her career-best tournament and was a huge accomplishment.
Brittany Levens's one-over par on the back nine proved our endurance.
"I'm very proud of our whole team.
Rose Kelly and Becca Candra making all-conference along with Katie and Brittany shows our depth. This tenth title is sweet."
Klostermann won medalist honors with a total of 226 (73-76-77-226), followed by Millikin's Brittany Holmes (70-82-81-233), North Central's Mallory Carr (82-80-79-241), and
Rose Kelly (81-79-83-243) and
Brittany Levens (87-77-81-245), both of Illinois Wesleyan.
IWU's
Rebecca Candra was sixth (82-80-85-247), followed by Carthage's Taylor McAdams (81-82-85-248), Wheaton's Sarah Moore (85-86-78-249), North Central's Marissa Miko (87-85-79-251) and Carthage's Tabby Bell (86-85-82-253).
The top 10 individuals earn all-conference honors.
