Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team ended its Colorado trip with an impressive three-game sweep of perennial national power LaVerne on Sat., Sept. 4. The Titans ended their play in the Molten Volleyball Pikes Peak Classic with a 1-3 record.

Junior setter Stacy Hassinger was the lone Titan selected to the all-tournament team.

The Titans beat the Leopards, 25-23, 25-17, 25-20, as freshman Stephanie Buhrow led IWU with 14 kills and a .765 hitting percentage. Senior Teresa Kirk had nine kills while senior Lori Johnson had eight. As a team, IWU had a .319 hitting percentage with 47 kills.

In 2009, the Leopards were in the top 25 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Coaches' Poll for the 10th consecutive year.

Hassinger had 37 assists and seven digs while freshman Miya Thalman led the team with 14 defensive digs. Kirk also added eight digs with four service aces and freshman Sarah Blum had eight digs.

Colorado College 3, Illinois Wesleyan 0 - Box Score

Earlier in the day, Colorado College won a three-game match over IWU by scores of 25-14, 25-16, 27-25 .

Buhrow made 10 kills to lead the team in the Colorado match while sophomore Alex Hill and senior Lori Johnson each had six kills. Thalmann had a team-high 11 defensive digs and Hassinger provided 26 set assists.
