O'Brien's Two Goals Give IWU 3-1 Soccer Win

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Junior Molly O'Brien scored two goals in the final six minutes to help break a 1-1 tie and provide Illinois Wesleyan with a 3-1 women's soccer win at home over Principia on Saturday, Sept. 4.

The Titans, who improved to 2-0, trailed 1-0 at halftime on a Principia goal by Hanna Mehring. But IWU got on the board with a goal from freshman Kristina Dolak on an assist from sophomore Emily Hinchman at the 53:17 mark, tying the score at 1-1.

At the 84:48 mark, O'Brien headed a shot into the back of the net after a header pass from Hinchman and a second assist from Lauren Knaack.
Kristina Dolak assisted on O'Brien's final goal, a shot from directly in front of the net, with 2:59 to play (at the 87:01 mark).

The Titans host Dominican at 7 p.m. at Neis Field on Monday, Sept. 6.
