IWU Men's Soccer Loses 3-1 at Emory

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team scored first but allowed the last three goals to lose, 3-1, to Emory in the Sonny Carter Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.

The Titans' Sam Peniak scored the first goal of the match at the 16:17 mark on an unassisted counter on a shot to the right side of the goal.

Emory tied the match at the 38:03 mark on a goal by Adam Waxman shot off a corner by Ben Dhiman and the score was 1-1 at the half.
Jake Graetz scored at 66:53 on an assist from Zach Samuels to make the score 2-1 and Andrew Natalino scored an empty net goal at the 89:19 mark of the match.

Emory had 17 shots to 10 for IWU and Titan keeper Frank Gorg made five saves and faced eight shots on goal. One of the Emory goals came in an empty net.

Illinois Wesleyan (0-2) will play Oglethorpe at 2:30 p.m. (Central time) on Sunday, Sept. 5 in the final match of the tournament.
