GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The Illinois Wesleyan women finished in second place and the Titans' men's team placed eighth at the DePauw Invitational, held in Greencastle, Ind., on Saturday, April 3.
The Illinois Wesleyan women accumulated 141 points, only five behind meet winner DePauw at 146.
The Illinois Wesleyan men's team amassed 53 points as the winner, Wabash, collected 111.50 points, ahead of Indiana Wesleyan with 110.50 and Vincennes with 110.
Junior
Alex Lambert got first in the pole vault at a height of 14 feet-5 1/4 inches.
Sophomore
Tyler Saunders got second in the 1500 meter run at 4:05.88 while sophomore
Max Lustick placed third with a time of 4:06.72.
Saunders also placed fifth in the 800 with his time of 1:57.46.
Sophomore
Adam Harrison ran a 400 time of 57.61 seconds, good for fifth place and the IWU 4x400 relay team was fifth with a time of 3:29.55.
Senior
Kindred Cook paced sixth in both the shot put (43 feet-1 3/4 inches) and the hammer throw (137 feet-10 inches) and sophomore
Steven Kirk was fifth in the hammer throw (138 feet-6 inches).
Sophomore
Shavantay Thomas won the 100 meter dash with a meet record time of 12.37 seconds and took the 200 meter dash with a run of 25.39 seconds.
Senior
Amanda LaRocca won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.20 seconds and got second in both the 100 meter dash (12.42 seconds) and 200 meter dash (26.16 seconds).
Sophomore
Lauren Alpert was the 400 meter winner with a time of 57.53 3, while sophomore
Jessica Christy placed third (59.84) and freshman
Lauren Rock was fourth (1:00.78).
With a DePauw track record time of 2:12.84, senior
Mackenzie Clemens won the 800 meter run while her sister, freshman
Tara Clemens, was third with a time of 2:14.08, which was also better than the previous track record.
Junior
Angela Oltman was the winner of the javelin throw at a distance of 125 feet and the Illinois Wesleyan 4x400 relay team placed first with a time of 3:59.80.
Senior
Emily Hagen got third place in the long jump (15 feet-11 3/4 inches) and fourth place in the high jump (5 feet- 1 1/4 inches).
Junior
Alex Richardson placed fourth in the triple jump (33 feet-1 inches) and junior
Lorin Biosca got sixth in the 1500 meter run (4:57.21).
