Complete Results, Washington U. Select Track Meet, April 10
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's team finished first and the men's team was second in the four-school Washington U. Select Outdoor Track Meet in St. Louis on April 10.
The Titan women collected 66.5 points to top Wartburg (57), Washington University (43) and Greenville College (26.5). Washington University, with 73 points, won the men's side, followed by Illinois Wesleyan with 50, Greenville College with 48 and Wartburg College with 22.
With an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 3:47.81, the Illinois Wesleyan 4x400 relay team of
Ali McCoy,
Tara Clemens,
Shavantay Thomas and
Jessica Christy placed second to Wartburg (3:46.96).
IWU's 4x100 meter relay team also placed first with
Lauren Alpert,
Amanda LaRocca, McCoy and Thomas blazing to a speed of 47.04 seconds.
LaRocca won the 100 meter hurdles with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14.48 seconds, while IWU's
Taylor Cordes was third at 15.95 seconds.
Thomas (12.20 seconds) and LaRocca (12.33 seconds) finished first-second in the 100 meter dash and McCoy won the 200 with her time of 25.11 seconds.
The Titans also finished one-two in the 5000 meter run with senior
Katelyn Draths winning with a time of 18:43.54 and
Jenny Dahm second (21:25.24).
Senior
Emily Hagen won the high jump at 5 feet-1 inches and
Chinny Ekwulugo got first in the triple jump with her distance of 36 feet-8 1/4 inches.
Alex Richardson got third in the triple jump at 33 feet-2 1/2 inches.
Angela Oltman was the winner of the javelin throw at a distance of 115 feet-4 inches and
Amanda Kessel placed second at 106 feet- 4 inches.
Kyla Motz won the women's shot put with a heave of 41 feet-3 inches.
Alex Lambert was the winner of the pole vault at 14 feet-11 inches and
Dan LaRocca was third at 14 feet-5 1/4 inches.
The Titan men took the top three places in both the discus and hammer throw events.
Steven Kirk,
Andrew Petro and
Darien West went 1-2-3 in the discus while West,
Kindred Cook and Kirk were the top three in order in the hammer. Kirk had a winning discus throw of 137 feet-7 inches and West's winning hammer throw was 163 feet-11 inches.
Cook also got third in the shot put at 41 feet-7 1/4 inches.
Paul Kwak won the 5000 meter run in a time of 16:25.93 while
Tyler Saunders (3:59.79) was second in the 1500 meter run and
Max Lustick was third (4:05.34).
#T.J. Luby# (10:10.33) was second in the 3000 meter steeplechase and
Adam Harrison (55.93 seconds) was third in the 400 meter hurdles.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Harrison,
Aaron Ball,
Mike Burgess and
Noah Dunham turned in a time of 3:21.57, good for second place.
