MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Visiting Illinois Wesleyan jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first two innings as they rolled past the Christian Brothers University Bucs, 14-8, Thursday afternoon, March 18, at Buc Field.
IWU (which improved to 2-5) scored the game's first nine runs, with three in the first, five in the second, and one in the third before Alfredo Arroyo put the Bucs (4-20) on the board in the bottom of the third with a two-run homer.
After IWU tacked on another run in the fifth, the Bucs answered with three in the bottom of the fifth. The Bucs cut the lead to 10-6 with a seventh-inning run and had the bases loaded with one out, but IWU reliever
Paul Kabbes induced a groundout and a strikeout to escape the jam.
IWU scored four more in the eighth, and the Bucs added two ninth-inning runs to set the final margin.

Casey McIntosh had three hits, including a double, and drove in four runs while
