Box Score 2 ORLANDO, Fla. - The Illinois Wesleyan softball team improved to 5-1 with a 4-0 win over Nichols followed by a 4-3 win against Trinity Christian on March 17 in Orlando, Fla.
In the win over Nichols,
Alyssa Vorel had two hits and was the winning pitcher, tossing six innings and allowing only three hits while striking out three. Second baseman
Lisa Narotsky had two hits and drove home two runs. Senior shortstop
Allison Ward and senior
Christy Engel also had two hits each and Engel struck out two in a scoreless inning in the circle.
Ward had two doubles against Trinity Christian and
Kris Lee had two hits, including a double, with two runs batted in. Sophomore third baseman
Kayla Mahoney also had two hits and scored a run.
Lauren James was the winning pitcher, going four innings and striking out five, while
Katie Bruins pitched three frames and allowed one run and struck out one.
The Titans' spring trip continues with games on Thursday, March 18, against Ramapo (N.J.) and Endicott.
