BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - For the second straight season, Illinois Wesleyan senior Christina Solari has earned first team honors on the ESPN: The Magazine all-district V squad, as announced Thursday (Feb. 4) by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Solari will join representatives of seven other districts on the ESPN: The Magazine Academic All-America women's basketball national ballot.

A political science major with a 3.84 cumulative grade-point average, Solari leads the No. 3-ranked Titans in scoring at 13.2 points per game and in rebounding with an 8.5 average. A two-time College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin "Player of the Week" this season, she was the league's "Player of the Year" in 2009 and a third team "D3hoops.com" All-American.

To be considered for the ESPN: The Magazine Academic All-America squads, players must be of at least sophomore standing, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 (of 4.0), and be a starter or first-line reserve.
The all-district V teams are chosen by a vote of members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Ontario.

Illinois Wesleyan (19-1, 8-1 CCIW) returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 6, hosting Elmhurst at 5 p.m. at the Shirk Center.
