Seniors Kerry Devitt and Wally Farris have been named as the "Most Valuable Performers" for the 2009 Illinois Wesleyan women's and men's cross country teams, respectively.
Devitt finished 74th at the 2009 NCAA Division III women's cross country championships and finished ninth with a time of 21:46 at the Midwest Regional. She was IWU's first-ever women's winner of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin meet (with a time of 23:15.3) and was chosen as the CCIW "Female Athlete of the Year" for cross country.
Farris was the Titans' lowest finisher in every meet this season and placed a team-best 12th at the CCIW meet, finishing with a time of 27:29.
In other team awards, the "Hardest Worker" honors went to senior Katelyn Draths and junior Mustafa Alavi while the "Best Newcomer" honors went to freshmen Elise Anderson and Kevin Kapolnek.
